Biography
Sarah A. Stemann is the lead for project management, communication and outreach in the Informatics (IFX) Core of NCATS’ Division of Preclinical Innovation. She supports the Biomedical Data Translator program, in collaboration with NCATS’ Office of Drug Development Partnership Programs. She also works with internal projects, such as Pounce — IFX’s centralized -omics data store. She provides IFX communication and outreach support [to the public/across NCATS and NIH. Before that, she was the project manager on the team that developed the Global Substance Registration System — a partnership between NCATS and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Stemann has supported government agencies setting up and using commercial, off-the-shelf software and custom enterprise software since 2003. Before joining NCATS, Stemann was a release manager — overseeing the software release process — and scrum master — helping her team become self-organizing and empowered to create, innovate and make decisions — in the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). In that role, she managed CDRH’s Center Tracking System. She also has worked as a government contractor at i2 Inc, Accenture and AINS.
Stemann holds a Bachelor of Science in business information technology from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Stemann focuses on project management support for implementing scientific information technology systems designed and hosted on NIH/NCATS infrastructure.
