Biography

Keith J. Kelleher, Ph.D., is a staff scientist and full stack software developer in the Informatics Core of NCATS’ Division of Preclinical Innovation. He builds databases and application programming interfaces. Kelleher strives to use clean architecture principles to ensure projects are flexible and easy to maintain.

Before joining NCATS, Kelleher was a software developer at Epic Systems Corporation. He designed features and applied solutions to keep the electronic health record system efficient and operating smoothly.

Kelleher earned his doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Houston, where he performed electrophysiological experiments and developed neuron models. Before that, he was an electrophysiologist/computational scientist in graduate school and at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Kelleher also holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Florida State University.

Research Topics

Kelleher’s background in experimental biology and software development gives him a comprehensive view when solving problems. He is driven to develop novel solutions that advance the center’s mission.
