Biography

Haley Chatelaine is an Intramural Research Training Award postdoctoral fellow in the Informatics Core within NCATS’ Division of Preclinical Innovation and collaborates extensively with the Analytical Chemistry core. In this capacity, she uses untargeted metabolomic profiling — including biomarker discovery and pathway exploration — to investigate small molecule mediators of disease and cell development and generate novel hypotheses for disease progression.

Haley joined NCATS after receiving her doctorate in nutrition from The Ohio State University, where she used untargeted metabolomics approaches to understand dietary components related to gastrointestinal health. Prior to that, she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the College of Saint Benedict, where her interest in the interdisciplinary application of chemistry to health was first ignited.

Research Topics

Haley’s research interests revolve around developing efficient and reproducible untargeted metabolomics methods for application toward a variety of health outcomes. She is focused on using metabolomics to understand model systems of infectious lung diseases and cell development.
